Yes, it's true, kinda, at least.
Dr. Robert Ersek, from Austin, Texas, performed liposuction on himself a few months ago. I guess a reason behind this move, was his research on stem cells, on storing and studying adult stem cells.
So he went ahead, called up on some of his friends, the media and assistants and performed liposuction on himself, just a few spots here and there, nothing too dramatic, it wasn't done with the purpose of losing weight or getting a slim figure, it was him trying to get his own fat cells for the future.
Here's an interview with the doctor, who happens to be very very entertaining and a very smart and professional plastic surgeon in the country. I'm sure you'll enjoy reading about his experience with this surgery, as well as the many other tv show he's been participating on for the last few years.

National Dog Bite Prevention Week
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and other concerned groups have created National Dog Bite Prevention Week, observed from May 15th to the 21st.
It's unbelievable to see some of the images of those children's faces, but it's even more unvelievable to see how well they recover under the care of a dedicated and experienced plastic surgeon.
We all know to be careful with the family pet when children are around and what not, but it only takes a second for something bad to happen.
Here's a link to a full length article about the issue:

Facelift via Needles
Ok, so we found out about this new technique for facelifts, it's via acupuncture. At first I didn't really believe it, how could this ancient treatment help rid faces of wrinkles and horrible frown lines?
But I guess it does work. Hundreds of patients have already done it and the benefits don't just stop at wrinkle removal, I guess it also helps clearing out the skin, increasing blood flow and all kinds of other very healthy things.
Check out this link for more information on this new facial rejuvenation treatment:

Beverly Hills Breast Augmentation
What is it that makes every woman out there looking to have breast augmentation, wanting to have it done in Beverly Hills?
What is it about Beverly Hills:
Is it "Dr 90210" on the E! Channel?
Or maybe "Extreme Makeover" on ABC?
Or maybe hearing about all the Hollywood actresses and their breast augs?
I don't have the answer but I'm sure a lot of the doctors in the area do.
They perform the surgery in sooooo many ways: transumbilical, or under the armpit, or around the areola, or under the breast, anyway possible, with the less scarring and the best positioning of the breast implant.
Here are some links that might be helpful to you, in your search for that perfect Beverly Hills breast augmentation:
Dr Robert Rey (from "Dr 90210)
Dr Stuart Linder (from MTV's "I Want a Famous Face")
Spalding Plastic Surgery Center (Dr Paul Nassif & Dr David Amron)

Surgeon's Gifts
I really want to share this article with everybody. It was a bit depressing but it was very heart-felt as well.
We started talking with some doctors about how they gave back to their communities and stuff like that, I guess their soft side. A lot of them talked about an organization called Face to Face that is helping battered women around the world gain back their self-steem, move away from their abusive partners and start a whole new live.
Some of the stories I read were just too painful, I couldn't believe somebody could actually do that, but it does happen, and it keeps happening right in our backyards.
It's as shocking and emotional as it could be, to know that cosmetic surgeons around the country are donating their time and effort ot help this women get their lives back its amazing, it makes want to go and thank them, huh?
Anyways, here's the link to the full article:

And here's the link to Face to Face as well:

If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to post them or send me an e-mail!

Women Plastic Surgeons
HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!
I was reading through some of the feedback e-mail from our website, and notice a lot of e-mails from women, showing concern about the lack of women plastic surgeons in their area, so I thought I would blog about that today.
More and more women are flocking to plastic surgeons' offices to have some kind of work done. But it's hard to feel comfortable in the hands of men, wondering about a breast augmentation with them, or a breast reduction and just thinking how would they know how it feels, they don't have to deal with that, right?
Well, for that group of women, (and men, I guess...) I suggested to one of our writers to gather some of those surgeons and write an article about them, what they think makes a difference and how they approach this world of surgeons, ruled by men, pretty much.
It's quiet interesting, he intereviewed Dr Mariam Awada in Michigan, and Dr Kimberly Henry in Northern California.

Body Contouring & Gastric Bypass Surgery
So, by now I think everybody has heard about gastric bypass surgery, sometimes known as stomach stapling, Al Roker had it, same with Carnie Wilson (who actually did it live online), and thousands of other people around the country.
It's the new miraculous surgery that can help morbidly obese people lose hundreds of pounds of fat, but not loose skin...
People are flocking to surgeons, to have their stomach shrunk to the size of an almond, so they can lose 200, 300 pounds and go back to regain a normal life. But what they don't realize is that once they lose all the weight, they are left with lots of hanging loose skin everywhere, from their arms, to their waists and legs, sometimes even on their faces.
So they have to go to a plastic surgeon this time to have all that removed, a procedure that can cost up to $40,000 and can take 3 to 5 surgeries to be fully complete. A procedure called body contouring or body lift, gaining more and more popularity each year.

Foot Facelifts?
Ok, so one of the staff writers here at CosmeticSurgery.com sent me a new article he just wrote about "Foot Facelifts"!!!! Can you believe that?
I know I'm obsessed with shoes and everything but for some women to actually put themselves through all that pain to wear pretty shoes just sounded crazy to me!
They get their toes shorten or straighten them out.
Well, thats really all I have for today, if you would like to read the article, just click on the headline:

Monday's Cosmetic Surgery News
Ok, so it's monday...I had just finished typing my post for today and something happened to my computer and I lost everything I had typed! :( Anyways, today I just wanted to mention 2 headlines that came to my mind related to cosmetic surgery and that I wanted to share with everybody reading this blog.
First of all, Cosmetic Surgery Vacations. Can you believe there are tons of women from the US now traveling to SouthEast Asia and Central America to get plastic surgery done? They are going for facelifts, breast implants and nose jobs but some of them are coming back with more than they wanted, such as infections and defective procedures. Be careful! That's why at Cosmetic Surgery.com we make sure to provide you with the information you need to make a smart decision.
And last but not least, Plastic Surgery before the Wedding. More and more women and their moms are going in for nips and tucks as soon as they find out they are getting married. Surgeons in Northern California have noticed a 300% increase in this kind of patients. I read one about this girl that went in for a rhinoplasty and another one about the mom that went in for a facelift. I guess you want to make sure you look good when all the attention is focused on you, right?
Ok, that's it for today!
